What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of Idaho? Like many people, you probably think about wide-open spaces and a very small population. Although that is true, you certainly will find a lot to do and many people in the area of Boise Idaho. If you are drawn to the area, whether on vacation or to visit family, what are some of the things that you can do while you’re in the area?
One thing that you would certainly want to do is to take in a little bit of the history of Boise. It was established in the 1800s during the gold rush and fort Boise is still able to be visited, although it was abandoned back in 1854. The new fort was built approximately nine years later and the town of Boise has grown next to it.
You might also want to take in a little bit of nature, and Idaho certainly has a lot of it to offer. There is a 25 mile Greenbelt located along the Boise River which also is adjacent to 850 acres of pristine natural area and a number of different parks. This runs through the center of the city and it is absolutely worth visiting for a nice walk, a day on your bicycle or just to take in the views.
One other thing that you may want to visit is something unusual, the world Center for birds of prey. This center is absolutely awesome to visit and there are a number of birds kept on-site for breeding purposes and to research through observation. Some of the different birds of prey that are located in the center include Eagles, Falcons and condors.
