The body found along train tracks in Alpha was that of a 58-year-old man from the borough, according to information from police posted to the Alpha Borough Facebook page.
Theodore Ruscus resided in the 800 block of South Boulevard, per the notice from Phillipsburg police, who cover Alpha. A cause of death has not been determined as investigators await the results of toxicology tests.
Ruscus’ body was found the afternoon of March 25 in a wooded area about 10 feet from the tracks near Lee Avenue and High Street, according to police and previous reports.
The body likely has been there for a day or longer, but did not appear to have been hit by a train, a Norfolk Southern Corp. spokesman said that day.
Authorities have said there are no signs of foul play.
